Engaged by repeat clients, the project involved the design and construction of a childcare centre, following a successful collaboration on their previous project. Entrusted with the design process, our team’s primary objectives were to achieve energy efficiency, minimize manual lighting control, implement purpose-built lighting, and adhere to installation budgets. To achieve these goals, motion sensors with specific lumen counts were strategically installed. These sensors only activated in the presence of movement and were calibrated to the absence of natural lighting, ensuring that power usage was optimized and unnecessary energy consumption was minimized. This approach reflects a commitment to sustainability and cost-effectiveness in the project’s implementation.
